We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible Word of God. We believe that there is one God, existent in three manifestations: as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
We believe that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, that Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead, and that he ascended into heaven.
We believe in the Blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church.
We believe that the only means to be cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ, and that according to Ephesians 2:8-9, we are saved by grace through faith.
We believe that sanctification continues after the new birth through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ and through the Word of God. We believe water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of Jesus Christ.
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayers.
We believe that baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.
We believe in speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, and that is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in this present world.
We believe in the Lord’s Supper (communion) and the washing of saints’ feet.
We believe in the premillennial second coming of Jesus — first, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to him in the air; second, to reign on the earth for a thousand years.
We believe that as born-again believers, we are More than Conquerors, and God intends for each of us to experience the abundant life He has in store for us here on earth.
We believe in the bodily resurrection, eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked. Amen.
Pastor Sanford Holliway, formerly a secular musician, was saved in his early 20s when he had an encounter with God after coming home after two days of playing music at a night spot in South Carolina.
While at the motel in South Carolina, he decided to purchase a Christian book in the lobby dealing with Occults and Oppressions. As he read that book, he felt convicted and very heavy. He turned to the last chapter of the book, which explained how to get rid of these oppressions. That chapter in the book said simply: Acknowledge you are a sinner, Confess that Jesus is Lord, Repent, Believe, and Receive.
Brother Sanford Holliway put in a two-week resignation from the band and immediately began a new life honoring Jesus Christ as his savior and guide. Soon afterward, he met Apostle G. A. Bryant and joined him as a faithful member, musician, deacon, and later, a faithful leader, minister, and then elder and overseer.
In January 2022, he was elevated and ordained as an Auxiliary Bishop within the More Than Conquerors Fellowship International. He has been the Pastor of the Shield of Faith Worship Center since 2004. He is married to Lady Nelcena J. Holliway.
It would not be possible to sum up Bishop Holliway in a couple of paragraphs, but his best description might be that he is very genuine and loving. He cares about all people. It does not matter their background, wealth, or social status; he just loves people and wants to see success and salvation in those he has the pleasure to encounter. One of his favorite scriptures is John 13:35 NIV, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
